• Chandelier Size Guide , How to choose the perfect size?

What kind of chandelier would you like for your dining table, bedroom, living room, kitchen, or bathroom?  If you’re looking to buy a chandelier, you might be uncertain of what size to choose. Chandeliers come in various style and design, they can be hung in a wide variety of locations. Your chandelier shouldn’t look too big or too small.

There are a few rules you can follow to select the ideal size chandelier for your space. Not only do chandeliers look lovely above a dining table, in an entrance, living room, bedroom, bathroom or even a closet, they can also create a bolder statement than a pendant light (if you are lucky enough to have a large one). A chandelier is a natural focal point for your home décor, whether it is modern, classic, or anything in between, if you have a two-story foyer or any space with high ceilings.

The size recommendations vary depending on where you plan to hang the chandelier. if it will be over a dining table or in an open space. Surprisingly, there is a straightforward formula for determining the size of your chandelier.

. Size guide rule

The general rule for how big your chandelier or lighting fixture should be in an open space is very straightforward. Add the room’s length in feet to the width in feet to get the total. A living room, for instance, measures 13 by 22 feet. These two add up to 35. This living room needs a chandelier that is 35 inches in width, which is the appropriate size.

Similarly, your chandelier should be about 15 inches broad if you’re hanging it in a bathroom that’s 6 feet by 9 feet. This basic guideline allows you to know that a 25-inch chandelier would appear too big. Let’s consider the height now that you know how wide your chandelier should be in an open space. The chandelier should typically be between two and three inch tall for every foot of ceiling height. An 18 to 27-inch-tall chandelier might hang from a typical 9-foot ceiling. Sizing is all about how anything looks relative to your room. Taller fixtures fit into higher ceilings.

. What size chandelier should you use over a table?

A chandelier in a dining room is a little different. Let’s start by discussing the width. You need to deduct 12 inches from the width of your table. The ideal chandelier size would be 26 inches wide if your table is 38 inches wide.

You need to make sure that the chandelier’s length is at least 12 inches less than the table’s length. For instance, if my table is 73 inches long, it stands to reason that I could use a chandelier as long as 60 inches. Designers adhere to this rule. It might not be possible to do this if your table is quite lengthy. But it does help you in realizing that you’ll need a rather massive fixture or more than one fixture to appear in.
